As part of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Campus RainWorks Challenge, three students have designed a water diversion project that will be installed at Busch Student Center. Three Saint Louis University students have designed and created an innovative urban storm water project that has been selected for funding by the St. Louis Metropolitan Sewer District. Construction for the team’s design is slated to begin in April 2014.

Saint Louis University was recognized as a 2012 Tree Campus by the National Arbor Day Foundation in February 2013. Launched in 2008, the national program honors colleges and universities and their leaders for promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of conservation.
A highlight of the week will be the SLUstainability Expo, which will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, in the Center for Global Citizenship. The event will feature vendors that partner with SLU and organizations that have a sustainable focus. Representatives from Fox Architects and McCarthy Building Companies, which worked on the CGC renovation project, also will make a presentation during the expo.
Saint Louis University was recently named one of Sierra Club’s “Cool Schools,” an honor given by the environmental organization to colleges and universities around the country that are committed to sustainability.
