Magis Jesuit event for young adults

catholics-01-620x330After a great pilgrimage to Poland last summer as part of preparations for World Youth Day, the Irish Jesuits are organising another Magis (more or greater) event this summer for young adults aged 18-35. Taking place in Ireland from 22 – 29 July, 2017, participants can choose between 2 options: a pilgrimage from Dublin to Glendalough or a faith and ecology experience in Wicklow Town. The group will be joined by other young people from Europe.

Jesuit Conference Asia Pacific (JCAP) established Reconciliation with Creation, a comprehensive program that aims to enable greater environmental awareness and participation in caring for all forms of life.  As part of this program, Jesuit pastoral ministries with the poor and beyond are integrating social and ecological objectives.

GC36 and Laudato si’, reconciliation in the world

2016_10_31_N&E_Photo1Father Arturo Sosa, elected last 14 October as the 31stsuperior general of the Society of Jesus during the 36thGeneral Congregation, is calling for a “reconciliation in the world” that means “we have to strive for reconciliation between human beings, reconciliation with God and reconciliation with the created world.”  Jesuit responses to a rapidly changing world, environmental concerns, poverty, and violence are challenging its worldwide ministries.

Transforming lifestyles for greater social and environmental action

2016.05.pulangi_people_and_forest_0Jesuits and colleagues in the Asia Pacific region are gathering in the Philippines next month to discuss and share how transformed lifestyles are moving a more meaningful and effective response to environmental and social concerns in their ministries.  The three-day environmental reflection workshop will be held at the Culture and Ecology Centre in Bendum, Bukidnon from June 6 to 10, and is organized by the Reconciliation with Creation programme of the Jesuit Conference Asia Pacific (JCAP).
