Fossil Free Releases Proposal

A5_FossilFree_FilePhotoKaylaNoguchi-300x186Georgetown University Fossil Free, a student campaign group focused on petitioning the university to divest its endowment from fossil fuel companies, has released its completed 35-page proposal. The group of about 10 students has worked on the proposal for over a year with the university’s Committee on Investments and Social Responsibility, professors and administrators.

GU Fossil Free releases final divestment proposal

screen-shot-2014-08-21-at-9-07-37-amLast Tuesday, Georgetown Univeristy Fossil Free (GUFF) released its final divestment proposal. The 35-page document is the result of a year-and-a-half long campaign that focused on divestment of the GU endowment from the top 200 fossil fuel companies. Founded in December of 2012, the campaign is a combined effort of students, alumni, faculty, and staff that addresses the multiple viewpoints within the collective University.
