Jesuit Conference Asia Pacific (JCAP) established Reconciliation with Creation, a comprehensive program that aims to enable greater environmental awareness and participation in caring for all forms of life.  As part of this program, Jesuit pastoral ministries with the poor and beyond are integrating social and ecological objectives.

Transforming lifestyles for greater social and environmental action

2016.05.pulangi_people_and_forest_0Jesuits and colleagues in the Asia Pacific region are gathering in the Philippines next month to discuss and share how transformed lifestyles are moving a more meaningful and effective response to environmental and social concerns in their ministries.  The three-day environmental reflection workshop will be held at the Culture and Ecology Centre in Bendum, Bukidnon from June 6 to 10, and is organized by the Reconciliation with Creation programme of the Jesuit Conference Asia Pacific (JCAP).

Asia Pacific Jesuits laud Pope’s focus on ecological care

JCAPecologyThe Major Superiors of the Jesuit Conference Asia Pacific have offered a sincere and enthusiastic welcome for Pope Francis’ encyclical on the environment, Laudato si‘ (‘On the Care of Our Common Home’). In a joint statement, the Major Superiors said the Pope ‘draws attention to the urgent need for reconciliation with creation, already one of our apostolic priorities in Asia Pacific’.
