Vatican launches International Conference on ecology

An International Conference entitled “Saving our Common Home and the Future of Life on Earth” is set to take place in the Vatican on 5 and 6 July. Organized to coincide with the third anniversary of Pope Francis’ Encyclical “Laudato Sì”, the event will see the participation of Vatican Officials and climate change experts.

Season of Creation

From September 1 to October 4, Christians around the world unite to pray and care for creation. It’s the “Season of Creation,” and it’s happening from Paris to Pittsburgh, Pretoria to La Paz. You are called to lead your community. The theme for this year’s celebration is “walking together,” and there are endless ways for your community to show it is on a journey toward better care of our common home.

NIMA PUC-Rio supports the 16th Brazilian Congress of the Superior Magisterium of Environmental Law

The Interdisciplinary Nucleus of the Environment supports the 16th Brazilian Congress of the Superior Magisterium of Environmental Law. The event has “the purpose of implementing the compulsory education of Environmental Law in the undergraduate courses of all the law faculties of the country, as well as watch over its quality.”

Green Umbrella (GU) is partnering with the City of Cincinnati Office of Environment and Sustainability and the Department of Economic Inclusion, the Brueggeman Center for Dialogue at Xavier University, Hamilton County Planning and Development and the Greater Cincinnati Green Business Council to present a daylong conference to share the latest ideas and best practices in environmental sustainability on a regional level.

Pope reiterates concern for migrants, refugees, environment

Pope Francis sent a message to a June 5-8 international symposium entitled, “Toward a Greener Attica: Preserving the Planet and Protecting its People,” in Athens, Greece, sponsored by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. The waters of the Mediterranean Sea have “become a tomb for men, women and children” is how Pope Francis lamented the fate of migrants and refugees.
