Campus Social and Environmental Project Contest

Graduating students or graduates of PUC-Rio, who attended in 2017.1 and 2017.2 the discipline Socioambiental and Human Rights (CRE 1175), are invited to participate in the Socio-environmental Project on Campus.The proposal of this subject is to stimulate the students to construct practices to be applied in the university.

Loyola Marymount University Receives Award for Sustainability Efforts from the City of Los Angeles

Loyola Marymount University (LMU) was honorded by the city of Los Angeles with the first-ever Platinum recycLA Star Award for its sustainability efforts, including the university’s on-campus recycling center. recycLA is the new recycling and waste collection program for commercial and large apartment buildings throughout Los Angeles.

Students Help Protect the Environment Through Composting and Gardening

On a chilly spring afternoon, a group of students gathered at Fordham College at Rose Hill to manage garden weeds, rake leaves, sift compost, plant seeds, and water plots in St. Rose’s Garden. The April 20 garden effort was part of a series of events held from April 13 to April 22 that was organized by the Students for Environmental Awareness and Justice (SEAJ) in honor of Earth Day. A global event that is observed annually on April 22, Earth Day is a call to action for communities around the work to protect the environment.

Xavier Jesuit School Vegetable Garden Thriving

The 2017-2018 academic school year began just over a month ago at the Xavier Jesuit School in Sisophon Cambodia. This year, we welcomed two more Grade 7 classes on top of the Grade 8 class to our secondary school. The school year began on the 16th of October 2017 and as part of the curriculum, each high school grade has two hours of Agriculture Classes a week scheduled into their weekly time-table.
